Day 1- Check the Omni Hotel and explore the Water Gardens
Escape to a shady sanctuary where the serene quiet pool is the perfect spot to take in the beautiful outdoor nature and relax in Fort Worth. The urban park is frequently billed as a "cooling oasis in the concrete jungle" of downtown. The quiet, blue meditation pool is encircled with cypress trees and towering walls that are covered in thin plane of water that cascades almost 90 degrees down to the sunken blue water feature. The sound of the water on the walls evokes thoughts of a gentle rain shower. The aerating pool features multiple illuminated spray fountains under a canopy of large oak trees. Day 2 - Rent a car for a day and go to Forth Worth
Fort Worth promotes itself as the "City of Cowboys and Culture". Fort Worth has the world's first and largest indoor rodeo, world class museums, a calendar of festivals and a robust local arts scene! From authentic Texas bar-b-que restaurants to south-of-the-border cuisine, you can find whatever food you’ve got a hankering for after a day on the trail. Indulge in Riscky's Barbeque as it has been serving up authentic Texas barbeque for over 75 years, slow cooking ribs, chicken and ham in the oh-so-famous Riscky’s famed barbeque pits. Another activity you'd like to consider, is to watch the Fort Worth Herd cattle drive from the sidewalks and restaurants on East Exchange Avenue. The longhorns reside in the corral located behind the Livestock Exchange Building where they eat, sleep and are well cared for. Every detail of the cattle drive—from the saddles and chaps to the boots and hats – is authentic and historically true. Stockyards Station Stockyards Station exemplifies Texas by providing an exciting blend of old and new with historic walking tours and over 20 unique shops. Whether it's BBQ, beef jerky or the perfect pair of boots, you'll have plenty of options to choose from. Dine, discover and delight in the offerings at the Fort Worth Stockyards! When you got tired in taking this day, drop by and take your dinner here in Sundance Square! It's also known as an entertainment hub, with small theaters, events and concerts at Sundance Square Plaza, and the Bass Performance Hall, staging opera, ballet and classical music. Nearby Fort Worth Water Gardens is a serene park with pools and waterfalls |
