It's been a busy year! I spent six weeks in Europe over the summer returning to some of my favorite destinations namely Dubrovnik, Bulgaria, Mykonos, Italy, and France and exploring new destinations which are Montenegro, Albania, and North Macedonia. I also took the opportunity to explore new areas of Italy and France. I stayed in Sorrento for the first time. It's such a beautiful city! I love how walkable it is. It's a great place to shop, and the food is so good! I discovered my new favorite dessert there called Tartufo. There is so much to do in that area of Italy. I climbed Mt. Vesuvius and took a tour of Pompei. Next time I visit the area, I want to explore the small towns along the Amalfi Coast and take a ferry to Capri Island. Last time I was in Italy, I visited a winery in Tuscany. It was such a wonderful experience I decided to make it a tradition every time I visit Italy. This time, I visited Madonna Del Latte in the Umbria region. They paired each glass of wine with different regional cured meats and cheeses which made it an extra special experience. On the way there I stopped by Civita di Bagnoregio, pictured above. Afterwards, I strolled around Orvieto. These are two incredibly picturesque locations! In France, I drove to a small town outside Mont Saint Michel. I discovered their traditional country eateries which include appetizer bar, selection of main course, and a bottle of wine and a bottle of hard cider. All for like $8. I was astonished at how delicious and inexpensive it all was. I was back in Puerto Vallarta in September helping with arrangements for my cousins destination wedding. I've been on a couple of cruises recently and plan to go on a couple more in the very near future. It's probably the best way to travel right now. The service levels are amazing compared to other forms of travel at the moment. There are capacity caps in place which means the staff to guest ratio is really high. Plus, where else in the world can you go right now where 95+ percent of people are fully vaccinated? On top of that, the sanitization protocols have been greatly enhanced. Some cruise lines, such as Celebrity, will even fly you home on a private jet if you get sick.
